Hiring: Life Coach Company: Phoenix Family Location: Kansas City, MO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 12:21:25 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office, Phoenix, Program Management About the job Required Skills: •The Life Coach will provide evidence-based coaching to people living in affordable housing communities to set and meet goals to exit poverty. •Meet with resident families living in affordable housing communities to identify, set, and meet goals relative to leaving poverty using a variety of coaching methods and tools, including the EMPath Mobility •· Collaborate with the CEO project team and Phoenix Family team to identify and proactively engage potential participants. Work as a part of a supportive team that encourages and celebrates family goal progress while providing case management during setbacks as needed. •· Work in coordination with CEO Specialized Resource Navigators and community resources to remove barriers to workforce training and employment and provide specific education and support to families in meeting their goals. •· Document quality demographic and programmatic data to be used for program management and improvement, as well as outcome reporting. •· Complete intensive training and ongoing workshops on the CEO model to effectively implement coaching and support a coaching culture, including trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and the EMPath Mobility Mentoring® evidence-based coaching approach. •· Identify needed areas for program improvement including engagement, program structure, and coaching methods, and adjust work accordingly. •· Research and implement new best practices related to coaching and helping families leave poverty. Qualifications: •High School Diploma or GED Required •Bachelor's degree in social services or related field preferred or equivalent experience. •Three years of experience providing trauma-informed coaching services to families preferred. •· Lived experience or experience working with people living in poverty and an understanding of the barriers faced. •Competency in a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, and databases and storage. •· Passionate about both helping people exit poverty and addressing root causes of poverty. •· Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience providing conflict resolution and mediation. •· High degree of knowledge about Kansas City’s neighborhoods and ability to work in all parts of the community. •· Strong sense of initiative and the ability to be successful working independently. •· Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
