The work location is the Richmond City Justice Center. •The Librarian is charged with responsibility for the overall operation of the inmate library. •The Librarian must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science and three (3) years of experience as a librarian. Should be able to demonstrate competencies in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook. The preferred candidate will have experience as a librarian in a criminal justice environment. •Position is open until filled and the position is at-will. •Must maintain the Library in accordance with the Minimum Standards for Local Richmond City Justice Centers and Lock-ups and the Richmond Sheriff Office Standard Operating Procedures. •Lead and oversee ensuring that the Library is maintained and stocked with current periodicals and books. The library must have a minimum of 200 books and 100 magazines on hand at all times. •Acts as a resource person for inmates needing assistance in checking out library materials, books and completing letters and forms. •Maintains an accurate and up-to-date log of all visits to any POD areas in need of library services.
