Required Skills: •Plan and execute linear and nonlinear stress analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods for mechanical components, subsystems and system model from concept to production. •Manage technical projects, including planning, scheduling, and risk assessment, to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. •Partner cross-functionally with cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components and adherence to system requirements. •Assess static strength, low-cycle fatigue, high-cycle fatigue, creep, crack growth, burst, buckling, contact and dynamic response. •Develop and implement rigorous test plans and validation strategies for mechanical components, analyzing test data and providing data-driven recommendations for design improvements. •Conduct root cause analysis of component failures and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability and performance. •Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. •Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering, applying relevant advancements to GE Aerospace products. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university. •Minimum of 3 years of experience in a design, analysis or similar engineering position. •Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship. •Bachelor’s or advanced degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university. •Minimum of 4 years of experience in a mechanical design, analysis or similar engineering position. •Demonstrated expertise in design and analysis tools, such as Unigraphics/NX, Ansys Classic and/or Ansys Workbench. •Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams. •Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. •Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills. •Demonstrated capacity to independently organize, document, plan and execute simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.
