Hiring: Irrigation Tech I (Escondido, CA) Company: BrightView Landscapes Location: San Diego, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 17:56:56 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords: Irrigation Systems, Troubleshooting, Seasonal Maintenance, Pipe & Valve Placement, Trenchers, Multi-Meters, Wire Locators, Ditchers, Pipe Sizing, Site Maps, Landscaping Equipment, Bilingual (Spanish) Experience: - 0–1 year of productive experience in the installation, inspection, and repair of irrigation systems - Works under general supervision following established procedures Required Skills: - Monitor and test new irrigation installations - Support troubleshooting and repair efforts - Evaluate and optimize pipe and valve placements - Assist with seasonal system tasks such as start-ups and winterizations - Participate in routine inspections and record findings - Support basic system adjustments and minor repairs - Good knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers, and pipe sizing - Ability to create and read site map-colored charts/legends - Safely operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers) - Perform manual labor using hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes) - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed Qualifications: - Valid driver's license (required; must meet company motor vehicle record standards for fleet vehicle operation) - Bilingual in Spanish - At least 18 years old (21 if operating company-provided vehicles) - Able to perform medium work exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently and/or constantly - Strong stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold - Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods - Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand/eye/hearing/head protection) - Ability to maintain required medications for known allergic reactions in possession at all times - Comfortable working in direct sunlight, near traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical/electrical hazards, loud noise, and allergens (pollen, ragweed, insects, reptiles) Compensation: - $20–$25/hr - Full-time benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, ancillary and voluntary products, a 401k savings plan with employer contributions, and 6 to 9 company-paid holidays per year - May be eligible for paid time off (vacation and/or sick leave), tuition reimbursement, and/or potential variable pay based on position and performance - Detailed benefits package provided during the interview process Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
