Required Skills: •·        Support assembly, modification, startup, shakedown, operation, troubleshooting, data collection, and commissioning of lab, pilot-scale, and fielded advanced energy systems. •·        Perform light fabrication and mechanical assembly, including small-bore tube bending, tubing and fitting installation, instrument mounting, bracket fabrication, equipment upkeep, and minor lab hardware modifications. •·        Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, and upkeep of laboratory instrumentation, electrical equipment, process hardware, test facilities, and support systems to maintain test readiness. •·        Perform wiring, termination, verification, checkout, and troubleshooting in control panels, junction boxes, field-device enclosures, and test-system wiring interfaces. •·        Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain field instrumentation and control devices, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments, switches, sensors, actuators, valves, and related equipment. •·        Support controls checkout, including I/O verification, instrument signals, alarms, permissives, interlocks, valve actuation, VFD operation, motor controls, and system readiness. •·        Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, wiring, calibration, and control-system issues using engineering documentation, test equipment, and systematic troubleshooting methods. •·        Maintain instrument databases, calibration records, test equipment records, redlined drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and related documentation for engineering update and configuration control. Qualifications: •·        High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, associate degree, military technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. •·        3-5 years of experience as an instrumentation, controls, electrical, commissioning, maintenance, lab, or similar hands-on technical role. •·        Strong ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using electrical wiring diagrams, loop drawings, cabinet drawings, P&IDs, wiring schematics, one-lines, I/O lists, and instrument documentation. •·        Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, wiring, and control-system issues in an industrial, laboratory, test, or commissioning environment. •·        Familiarity with low-voltage controls, 120 VAC and 480 VAC systems, motor controls, VFDs, 4-20 mA loops, discrete I/O, analog signals, transmitters, switches, sensors, actuators, valves, and process instrumentation. •·        Ability to use common hand tools, tubing tools, electrical test equipment, and calibration equipment, including multimeters, loop calibrators, pressure/temperature calibrators, signal generators, and handheld communicators. •·       Hands-on experience with light mechanical assembly, small-bore tubing, fittings, instrument mounting, equipment maintenance, or similar laboratory, industrial, or field hardware support. •Strong documentation habits, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to work in a dynamic laboratory, commissioning, and field-test environment.
