Hiring: Institutional Risk Vice President Company: Morgan Stanley Location: South Jordan, UT Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 11:40:28 Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, Project Management, Risk Management, SaaS, Segment, Wealth Management About the job Required Skills: •Develop a broad understanding of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Institutional business, including key products, platforms, client segments, support infrastructure, high-risk processes, governance routines, and strategic initiatives. •Provide risk advisory support to Institutional business partners, helping identify, assess, communicate, and escalate risks across products, platforms, processes, and client-related activities. •Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, risk partners, and control partners to analyze, design, implement, and enhance control frameworks across Institutional businesses. •Support risk assessments related to new business initiatives, platform enhancements, technology changes, AI-related buildouts, and other strategic efforts by advising on governance considerations, control design, risk mitigation, implementation readiness, and ongoing monitoring. •Actively facilitate and support IIS Platform BCU support model, including the development, tracking, and reporting of relevant metrics to assess risk indicators, control performance, operational effectiveness, and business readiness. •Conduct account, platform, and process analysis to identify trends, anomalies, emerging risks, potential control gaps, and areas requiring further review or escalation. •Provide data mining, reporting, and analytics support to enhance transparency, inform management decision-making, identify emerging risks, and support timely executive-level reporting. •Support business partners in identifying, understanding, assessing, and self-disclosing risks, including issues that may require remediation, governance review, or escalation. Qualifications: •Strong knowledge of financial products, investment strategies, asset classes, portfolio construction, and institutional client needs. •Operational familiarity with SEC, FINRA, and Firm compliance policies, procedures, and supervisory expectations. •Strong analytical, problem-solving, investigative, and critical-thinking skills. •Demonstrated capacity to identify risks, assess issues, determine appropriate escalation paths, and support remediation. •Demonstrated capacity to provide practical, risk-based advisory support to business stakeholders and senior management. •In-depth knowledge of control frameworks, governance routines, issue management, and risk reporting. •Strong project management and organizational skills. •Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with evolving deadlines. •Strong written and verbal communication skills. •Demonstrated capacity to explain complex investment, portfolio, IPS, risk, and control concepts clearly and concisely.
