Required Skills: •Collaborates across the special education department and Agency to design and deliver professional development workshops. •Researches evidence based resources on Individual Education Programs (IEP) development and best practices in teaching diverse learners. •Participates in the creation of guidance material and corrective action planning to support district compliance. •Creates and translates complex special education research into accessible, practical guides and resources for educators and families. •Creates programming for new special education teacher support. •Works with technology to help establish and create a state-wide learning platform for diverse learners. •Advises district administrators and special education teachers on effective IEP development, positive behavior strategies, and inclusive practices. •Collaborates with state and national stakeholders to stay current and improve processes in our state. Qualifications: •Master's degree in Special Education or related service provider field, or, a Bachelor's degree in one of these fields plus two years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) •Expertise in special education compliance. •Solid functional working knowledge of IDEA and Illinois state rules and regulations, Section 504, MTSS, state cyclical monitoring and corrective action process. •Strong technical writing and presentation skills. •Demonstrated capacity to create guidance documents and provide technical assistance to the field.
