Hiring: IACUC Compliance Manager Company: Northwestern University Location: Chicago, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 11:29:29 Target Skills & Keywords : HTML, Regulatory Compliance About the job Required Skills: •Under the direction of the Senior Director, the IACUC Compliance Manager serves as a liaison with federal regulatory agencies and accreditation organizations, supporting institutional readiness and ongoing compliance with external oversight requirements. •As a member of the IACUC Office leadership team, this role shares responsibility for advancing strategic goals and operational success. The Manager models and promotes the Office for Research values of Empathy, Accountability, Fairness, Community, and Creativity, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven work environment. •This job description does not cover all aspects of the position. •Operational Management •Lead and direct inspection and audit programs, ensuring comprehensive evaluation of operations and full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. •Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advises management how that may affect the IACUC Office. •Serve as a resource for federal, state, and local regulations when questions and issues arise from day-to-day operations. •Oversee the intake, evaluation, and resolution of confidential allegations of noncompliance, ensuring appropriate triage, documentation, and follow-through. Qualifications: •A bachelor’s degree in a scientific, healthcare or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience where similar knowledge, skills and abilities were acquired. •5 or more years of direct IACUC experience. •Certified IACUC Professional credential (CPIA). •Demonstrated characteristics: adaptability, agility, collegiality, customer focus, ethical judgment, multi-tasking, and integrity. •Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.) •Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate research regulations and guidance in writing and verbally to a broad, diverse audience. •Demonstrated capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. •Possess positive interpersonal and time management skills. •Proficient using Outlook, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and general PC knowledge. •Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant academic field.
