Hiring: HVAC Technician (Facilities) - 3rd Shift Company: SpaceX Location: Cape Canaveral, FL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:30:45 About the job Experience: •Knowledge in the following areas: HVAC, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, tubing, pipefittings, rotating machinery, and a variety of mechanical fasteners •Knowledge of high-pressure gas, flammable gas, and refrigeration gases •Professional experience maintaining high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters and standard air handling unit (AHU) filtration systems •Basic understanding of the theory of operation for refrigeration, motors, heat pumps and mechanics •Demonstrated capacity to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies and industry standards Required Skills: •Maintain and repair HVAC support equipment on facilities systems including air handlers, chilled water, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, filters, boilers etc. •Complete preventative maintenance schedule on facility and launch associated HVAC systems •Partner cross-functionally with engineering and managers to maintain systems in peak operating condition •Perform ductwork modifications and various repairs •Perform brazing, soldering, evacuation & charging of various refrigerants •Perform water piping and insulation modifications and repairs •Assist with maintenance of compressed air and industrial door systems Qualifications: •High school diploma or equivalency certificate •1+ years of professional experience working with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems •Demonstrated capacity to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral •Demonstrated capacity to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small opening and climbing hand over hand, lifting 50 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights, and operating industrial equipment •Demonstrated capacity to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise •Demonstrated capacity to work overtime as needed •To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. •1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. •1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
