Hiring: HTS Magnet Multiphysics Modeling Engineer Company: U.S. Fusion Energy Location: Energy, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 14:09:01 Employment Type: Full-time / On-site Target Skills & Keywords : AutoCAD, CAD, CATIA, Python, SolidWorks About the job Experience: •3 years of experience in engineering, physics, or a data-analysis-focused role; internship or academic research experience with magnets, cryogenics, or electromagnetics a plus Required Skills: •Utilize your experience to develop industry state-of-the-art analytical models of HTS Magnet Systems •Run and maintain Multiphysics simulations (e.g. Ansys EM, Structural, COMSOL) under the direction of senior engineers •Collect, process, and analyze data from magnet design studies and test campaigns •Build and maintain data analysis tools, scripts, and dashboards using Python or similar languages •Support documentation of magnet specifications, test procedures, and results •Track program metrics and help prepare progress reports against milestones •Assist with organizing and maintaining design and test records, drawings, and vendor documentation •Support coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders on data and documentation needs Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. •Demonstrated capacity to perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time. •Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call. •Demonstrated capacity to work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
