Hiring: HSE Environmental Permitting Specialist Company: Plains Location: Houston, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-15 15:01:59 Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office, Regulatory Compliance About the job Experience: •2+ years of experience Required Skills: •The location for this can be in Houston or Midland •Support environmental permitting for projects on federal, state, and private lands •Assist with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and New Mexico State Land Office (SLO) requirements •Coordinate with external consultants to compile environmental and permitting documents •Support compliance with Bureau of Land Management (BLM), State Land Office (SLO), US Army Corps (USACE), and US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) requirements •Establish a working relationship with key personnel at regulatory agencies. •Coordinate with internal project teams to support routing guidance and schedules •Track environmental deliverables, permit status, and agency requests Qualifications: •Preferred 2+ years of experience •Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field •Interest in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance •Basic knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act (CWA), and Endangered Species Act (ESA) •Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills •Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite •Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required •Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks •Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing. •This position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship.
