Hiring: Housekeeper I Company: The University of Texas at Arlington Location: Arlington, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 10:33:51 About the job Required Skills: •Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks in residences, including floor care, surface sanitation, waste removal, and supply replenishment to maintain readiness and cleanliness. •Perform hotel-style cleaning duties, including making beds, washing linens and towels, cleaning appliances and dishes, removing trash, emptying refrigerators, cleaning under and behind appliances, and restocking coffee and bathroom supplies. •Clean and detail kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures to ensure they are sanitary and well-maintained. •Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, buffers, scrubbers, commercial cleaning equipment, and extractors. •Perform make-ready cleaning in apartments and residence halls as needed. •Promote energy conservation by ensuring lights are turned off; inspect buildings for cleanliness, maintenance needs, and completed work orders; assist in managing custodial inventory and supplies. •Respond to on-call emergencies before, during, or after normal hours, including fires, electrical outages, floods, icy conditions, and other campus emergencies. Qualifications: •High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience. •Must be physically able to perform all required tasks. •High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in housekeeping or custodial services. •Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures. Proficiency in using custodial chemicals. •Skilled in operating housekeeping equipment. •Demonstrated capacity to carry out duties effectively by following oral and written instructions. •Demonstrated capacity to lift, push, pull, bend, stand, sit, kneel and squat. •Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 4:30pm •We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to our employees at the University.
