One year of the required experience must include servicing and repairing heavy duty construction equipment and diesel engines. •Applicants may substitute additional documented and relevant experience repairing, servicing and maintaining automobiles, trucks, buses or comparable equipment on a year-for-year basis for the required education. •Completion of an accredited training program for Heavy Equipment or Diesel Repair may be substituted for one and one-half years of the general experience. The accrediting body for the training program must be listed on the U.S. Department of Education's Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs. •U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
