Work may be performed remotely or from our office located in Tumwater, WA, based on the employee’s preference. •Position supports the Department’s Mission to protect and improve the health of people in Washington State by providing timely and thorough investigations into allegations of misconduct of licensed healthcare professionals, practice reviews, and inspections of selected regulated healthcare facilities. The Office of Investigative and Legal Services •(OILS) implements the discipline procedures for health and health-related professionals and businesses as required under the Washington Uniform Disciplinary Act, RCW 18.130 (UDA). •Statutory Application: Review and interpret guidance, policies, rules, and statutes (such as Title 18.130 RCW, the Uniform Disciplinary Act, and the medical marijuana consultant program) to determine the scope of a complaint. •Plan Formulation: Write and adapt comprehensive investigative plans based on allegations, identifying necessary facts, evidence, witnesses, and sequential steps. •Strategic Coordination: Receive assignments from supervisors and coordinate investigative tactics using senior-level expertise. •Field Interviews: Conduct on-site interviews with respondents, complainants, and witnesses in homes, offices, healthcare facilities, and other establishments statewide. •Evidence Collection: Collect, preserve, and investigate information gathered through observation, document reviews, and health care, business, government, or financial records. Qualifications: •There are multiple pathways to qualify for this position. You must meet one of the options provided and any additional criteria listed. •Eight (8) years of experience as an investigator with a criminal justice or regulatory agency, or corporate entity, which must include three (3) or more years of field experience preparing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and respondents or suspects. •Two (2) years of experience as a Health Care Investigator 2. •After a conditional offer of employment, a criminal history background check will be conducted.
