Head of Engineering

dynamism - San Francisco Bay Area

Hiring: Head of Engineering Company: dynamism Location: San Francisco Bay Area Job Posted Time: 2026-09-13 13:11:10 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Computer Vision, Interaction Design, Machine Learning, React, TypeScript About the job Experience: •Infrastructure inspection, drones, dashcams, road mapping, agricultural robotics, and autonomy are especially relevant backgrounds. •We’re interested in the whole chain of your contribution: what data the system captured, how it interpreted that data, how you tested its reliability, and how the output became useful to a customer. •A combination of founder experience, customer-facing product development, and technical leadership in physical-world systems would be particularly compelling. •If you believe you’re a particularly strong fit, email richard@sfdynamism.com with your resume and a brief note on why. Include a system you personally helped take from messy real-world inputs to a working product, your technical contribution, and how you established that it was reliable enough to use. Required Skills: •You’ll report directly to the founder CEO as their senior technical counterpart and own the user-facing product end to end. You’ll set technical direction and standards while continuing to write, review, test, and debug code. •The strongest fit is someone who has already connected physical-world data to a useful software product. You understand the path from capturing evidence to interpreting it, validating it, and turning it into workflows customers can act on. •You may have founded a company, led engineering across disciplines, or taken a complex product into production. You’ve remained close enough to the implementation to understand where systems fail and how to improve them. •Own the user-facing product across interaction design, frontend, backend, data model, releases, and production. •Work across React, TypeScript, Mapbox, Express, the data layer, and supporting infrastructure. •Partner with engineers responsible for machine learning and data creation to connect their outputs to reliable customer workflows. •Make architecture and product decisions that account for imperfect imagery, incomplete coverage, inconsistent records, and changing real-world conditions. •Define quality thresholds, validation, fallbacks, and human review so customers understand what they can trust. Compensation: •San Francisco, in person | $250-$350K base | 1–3% equity | Full time Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
