Hiring: General Superintendent / Director of Field Operations - Southeast Healthcare Market Company: Barton Malow Location: Charlottesville, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-15 12:27:57 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Project Management About the job Experience: •15 years' experience in the healthcare construction industry on large and complex projects •8 years of direct supervision of projects teams including trades •Minimum 15 years' experience in the healthcare construction industry on large and complex projects Required Skills: •Enforces corporate safety policies on jobsites, including pre-task safety planning and providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field. •Supports sales efforts and project pursuits and promotes Barton Malow in the healthcare industry. •Leads project team with the establishment of the overall project build strategy and workflow and helps document those in site logistics and phasing plans. •Oversees set-up of baseline project schedule(s) and schedule updates; ensures all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates; supervises, coordinates and sequences subcontractor’s work to minimize interference between various trades and owner activities on large, complex projects or multiple projects; maintains labor harmony. •Oversees and coordinates with each trade holding permits and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure compliance with inspection process and progress is in line with schedule, planning, and commissioning process. •Assists with development of work scopes and front-end documents for bidding to create clear and concise scopes of work based on full understanding of the contract documents and applicable work rules/jurisdictions; assists with bid process including participation in post-bid interviews and answering bidder questions. •Partners with Project Executives / Directors with management of overall budget and forecasting of usage, by helping to control cost and monitoring potential changes from subcontractors, including time and materials. •Attends internal and external (with owners and designers) project meetings to provide field progress reports, awareness of challenges faced, and help problem-solve construction activities.
