Hiring: General Maintenance Technician III Company: State of South Carolina Location: Charleston County, SC Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 13:22:50 Employment Type: Remote About the job Required Skills: •This employee will be responsible for completing tasks on the Upper Coastal Waterfowl Project. •Samworth, Santee Coastal, Santee Delta. •Efficiently operating a long reach trackhoe. •Constructing dikes and re-topping dikes as needed. •Maintaining trackhoe and conducting preventative maintenance. •Operating other heavy equipment as needed on the Project. •Assisting with the installation of water control structures. •Supporting Upper Coastal Waterfowl Project where needed (i.e. hunting, burning and/or maintenance activities). Qualifications: •High school diploma and four (4) years of experience in a specialized trades area. •Demonstrated capacity to obtain a CDL and Captains license. •Demonstrated capacity to proficiently and safely operate a long reach trackhoe. Ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to heavy equipment. Ability to work off of mats and in remote areas with the trackhoe. Ability to safely operate a boat and motor. Ability to operate bulldozer, backhoe and other heavy equipment.
