Required Skills: •Performs engineering assignments of moderate complexity, exercising independent judgment under the guidance of experienced engineers (e.g., collect and analyze technical data, interpret results, draw conclusions, and present recommendations to management) •Leads small engineering projects or tasks, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure technical requirements and standards are met (e.g., analyze and interpret results of power flows, perform engineering tests, and resolve ambiguous findings) •Provides technical support and consultation to engineering and operating groups, assisting in the design, installation, and maintenance of systems and equipment (e.g., review and validate studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices). •Participates in the evaluation and improvement of technical systems and processes, contributing to project planning and implementation, and may assign and review work as needed. •Lead scope of work development for new 138kV, 345kV and 765kV substations, expansions, rebuilds, and major equipment additions. •Define assumptions evaluate alternatives and build strategies. •Lead and oversee developing high level scope, one-line diagrams, conceptual layouts, and preliminary designs for greenfield substations and capacity expansion projects. •Coordinate input from civil structural and protection & control to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions Qualifications: •Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (2) (3) •Demonstrated capacity to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. •Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory •Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices. •Knowledge of complex field test equipment. •Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles necessary to perform very complex or unique assignments for a specific •Minimum of two related career experiences (4) (i.e., changes in technical job responsibilities, which may or may not include a change in department) OR Engineer in Training OR 50% complete (by hours) with advanced technical degree, M.B.A. or Project Management Certification •Graduate degree (1) or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification •Possess Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification and/or Professional Engineer license (2) (3) •Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels.
