Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process meal plan, cash, credit card, and transactions accurately. •Maintain and replenish service supplies, including condiments and napkins. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all areas, including dining rooms, kitchens, dish areas, and bathrooms. Tasks include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces, walls, and windows. Report emergencies and equipment issues. •Seek direction at the beginning of the shift and communicate professionally/effectively with team members and supervisors throughout shift. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibility. Provide support throughout the dining units as needed. Assist with training and guidance for new and existing staff including student staff. Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining. •Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. •One year or more of experience working and preparing food in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility using commercial kitchen equipment. •One year or more of experience as a cashier in a food service operation utilizing point-of-sale (POS) systems. •Customer service experience in a high-volume food service operation. •Demonstrated capacity to multi-task and work with little supervision.
