Required Skills: •Lead and oversee designing basic building systems, preparing technical documents and performing engineering calculations in coordination with project teams. •Lead and oversee designing intermediate building systems, preparing design documents and performing engineering calculations in coordination with project teams. They are responsible for occasional task management and mentoring of less experienced designers. •(Multiple Openings) Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. •Performs calculations and designs basic engineering systems in collaboration with experienced design staff. •Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics. •Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications. •Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects. •Acts as a mentor to less experienced designers. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering (i.e.: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 1 year of relevant experience or 4 years of experience with high school diploma or equivalent is required. •Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred. •Additional certifications and accreditations aligned with the relevant technical field (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD, etc.) preferred. •Basic proficiency in engineering design: basic knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards. Knowledge may be applicable to a limited range of practice, project or program types. •Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred. •High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes. •Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels in a clear and concise manner. •Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills. •Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment, in group projects and leading less experienced designers. •Demonstrated capacity to receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
