Hiring: Fire Alarm Technician Company: University of California, San Francisco Location: San Francisco, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 14:20:36 Target Skills & Keywords : Systems Design About the job Qualifications: •Two (2) years of experience installing, programming, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting complex addressable, networked commercial or institutional fire alarm systems, such as Edwards EST3/EST4 or equivalent systems. •Demonstrated theoretical and working knowledge of electricity, electronics, and electronic and computerized fire alarm system design and operation. •Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot fire alarm system failures. •Demonstrated knowledge or ability to obtain manufacturers certification on the following systems: Edwards Systems Technology panels and networked fire alarm systems. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret construction drawings and fire system schematics. •Solid functional working knowledge of applicable building and safety codes. •Demonstrated capacity to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with contractors, consultants, customers, and staff. •Edwards/EST manufacturer certification or training. •Understanding of EST Fireworks stations networking with fiber optics. •NICET Level II or higher Fire Alarm Systems certification.
