Hiring: Financial Analyst, Motion Picture Finance Company: Sony Pictures Entertainment Location: Culver City, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 09:52:39 Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SAP About the job Experience: •0-1 years of experience •1 years of experience Required Skills: •Maintain monthly and ongoing title analytics, including Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions ultimates, major label release calendars, box office/release date changes, slate summary ultimates, Revenue/EBIT trend reporting, and box office analysis •Support quarterly forecast cycles for Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and other assigned labels by reviewing Distribution updates, preparing forecast files, developing presentation materials, and coordinating with finance partners to validate assumptions and business drivers •Assist in preparation of quarterly cash forecast for MPG including analysis by market, cash timing and drivers of difference compared to previous forecast •Assist Global Finance Accounting with month end close activities for film ultimate amortization in SAP, Overhead analysis, title updates based on monthly activity and analysis for theatrical accruals •Support quarterly analyses and schedules including FX impact analysis, impairment memo support, amortization by label analysis, residuals confirmation schedules, and audit schedules such as quarterly comparisons reports, and title selections required for audit to calculate obligation ultimates •Prepare corporate requirements including bi-weekly forecast updates, Revenue/OI by slate reporting, FX rate impact, and divisional cash flow BW submission files •Partner with Global Finance Accounting, Corporate Finance, Global Distribution, Label Operations and other cross-functional teams to gather inputs, reconcile financial data, explain drivers, and improve recurring forecast and reporting processes •Partner cross-functionally with our participations reporting team to reconcile obligation payments and ensure investor and participant costs align with film models Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred •Strong MS Excel skills required (Look-ups, pivot tables, macros) •Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize forecast drivers, risks, opportunities, and variance explanations clearly •Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment •Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple recurring deliverables, follow through on open items, and bring projects to timely completion •Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Distribution, and Label Operation partners •Demonstrated capacity to streamline or improve forecast, reporting, and submission processes, including proficiency with AI tools to enhance efficiency or analysis •Solid functional working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS concepts and entertainment finance processes preferred •Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint required; experience with SAP/S4, BW, BPC, and AI tools e.g. ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude preferred Compensation: •$66,400 - $83,000 / year •Competitive benefits and rewards package Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
