Hiring: Field Service Engineer – Liquid Handling Automation (Hamilton & Tecan) Company: EquipNet Location: Cerritos, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 11:34:05 Employment Type: Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office About the job Experience: •5+ years of field service or technical support experience with Hamilton and/or Tecan liquid handling systems, ideally in biotech, pharma, or clinical diagnostic environments. Required Skills: •Provide remote, on-site, and in-facility technical support for Hamilton (STAR, STARlet, Vantage, Nimbus) and Tecan (Fluent, EVO) liquid handling systems. •Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and application-related issues, including robotic arms, pipetting channels, grippers, and integrated peripherals (plate readers, sealers, incubators, barcode readers). •Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations to meet manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards. •Perform refurbishment and reconditioning of Hamilton and Tecan systems and components at our Cerritos facility, including disassembly, cleaning, parts replacement, reassembly, and functional testing to bring equipment back to spec prior to redeployment or resale. •Support installation, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and validation of new liquid handling systems and integrated automation workcells. •Troubleshoot and optimize automation scripts/methods (Hamilton Venus, Tecan EVOware/FluentControl). •Provide technical training and guidance to laboratory personnel on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices. •Maintain accurate service logs, compliance records, and documentation of all service and refurbishment activities. Qualifications: •Hands-on experience servicing, programming, or supporting Hamilton and/or Tecan liquid handling platforms required. •Solid functional working knowledge of Hamilton Venus and/or Tecan EVOware/FluentControl software. •Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (robotics, pneumatics, motion control systems). •Comfortable performing bench-level refurbishment and repair work in a shop/facility setting in addition to client-facing field service. •Operational familiarity with LIMS, scheduling software, or lab automation integration is a plus. •Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. •Strong organizational skills with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and documentation. •Demonstrated capacity to work independently in client environments while maintaining a professional, service-oriented approach. •Must be willing and able to work both at our Cerritos facility and at client sites as business needs require. •Must be local to Cerritos, CA.
