At Sparklight, a Cable One company, our Fiber Splicers play a vital role in building and maintaining the fiber optic networks that connect our customers to what matters most. •As a Fiber Splicer I, you will work alongside experienced team members to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic infrastructure in both aerial and underground environments. This position offers hands-on experience, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to work on projects that directly impact the communities we serve. •At Sparklight, a Cable One company, we believe in creating an environment where associates can build successful careers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. •Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in aerial and underground network environments. •Perform fiber optic troubleshooting and restoration activities to maintain reliable customer service. •Utilize testing equipment, including OTDRs and power meters, to verify network performance and identify issues. •Read and maintain fiber records, splice diagrams, and project documentation. Qualifications: •High school diploma or GED. •Basic knowledge of fiber optic construction, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting. •Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. CDL preferred or ability to obtain if required. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and network records. •Demonstrated capacity to work overtime, emergency call-outs, on-call rotations, and occasional travel as needed. •Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. •Regular and predictable attendance is required. •Committed: Values each and every customer, while working hard to keep their business and support our communities. •Helpful: Delivers support in the ways that are most useful to our customers and addresses their needs with expertise, respect, and empathy. •Proactive: Understand what our customers need, and actively works to make their relationship with use seamless, easy, and rewarding.
