Hiring: Ferryboat Deckhand (1-3) Cameron Parish Company: State of Louisiana Location: Cameron, LA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 14:39:26 About the job Required Skills: •Job Duties and Other Information •Assists patrons in a courteous and businesslike manner while performing routine manual work aboard a state-owned marine vessel. •Collects and records tolls from boarding vehicles and/or pedestrians. •Classifies vehicles and registers class and axles of each vehicle boarding the vessel, collects appropriate toll, process change and issues receipt. •Completes vessel passenger and vehicle count sheets. •Performs security and safety checks on vehicles boarding, while underway and departing the vessel. •Serves as “Designated Member of the Crew” in accordance with the requirement of the vessels Coast Guard Certificates of Inspection. •Operates emergency equipment such as firefighting hoses, fire extinguishers, rescue boats, life rings, floats, in drills actual emergencies.
