Hiring: Federal Tax Accountant Company: Kforce Inc Location: St Louis, MO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 12:09:24 Employment Type: Contract / Hybrid Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Excel About the job Experience: •1-2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax •2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax Required Skills: •Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external advisors to address corporate tax matters and support ongoing compliance initiatives •Prepare and reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of tax balances and supporting documentation •Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards •Actively facilitate and support preparation of consolidated federal corporate income tax filings, including required schedules and supporting workpapers •Analyze financial data to identify and document book-to-tax adjustments and prepare related reconciliations •Coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments and assist with extension filings as part of the annual tax compliance cycle •Provide documentation and analysis in support of external audits and tax provision reviews •Respond to tax authority inquiries by gathering information and assisting with audit support as needed Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field •Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills •Excellent communication and teamwork abilities •CPA certification (or progress toward certification) is a plus •Exposure to financial reporting, tax provision, or ERP systems is beneficial •Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
