Hiring: FACILITY MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR Company: Chaves County Location: Roswell, NM Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:20:13 About the job Required Skills: •Tasks Include But Are Not Limited To Responsible for keeping Public Services Director informed on all important and critical facility operation and maintenance issues and needs. •Lead and oversee approval, development and organization of projects and procedures pertinent to County building and grounds maintenance. •Supervise, assign, review, train and evaluate work of all staff members; plan and outline work for department; provide technical cost estimates and write specifications; coordinates, inspects and ensures compliance with plan specification building codes on all contracted work. •Inspect facilities and grounds to determine maintenance and repair needs, review work orders and set priorities as well as interface with Public Services Director on complex controlled maintenance, capital outlay projects, space utilization, long range planning and preventative maintenance. •Set priorities and scheduling repairs in accordance with budget limitations. •Prepare departmental budget proposal and approving requisitions, prepare reports, maintain departmental supply and property inventory and department personnel records. •Lead and oversee progressive disciplinary procedures within the department. •Consult and maintain liaison with governmental partners, vendors, contractors, architects and engineers. Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to communicate orally and in writing in English. •Five years’ experience in operation and maintenance management of federal, state, county or university facility. •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, plant management, public administration, or business administration. •Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required •Demonstrated capacity to independently perform the wide range of complex and responsible management and technical assignments associated with facility operation and maintenance. •Must be able to prepare budgets. •Demonstrated capacity to supervise in a pleasant and efficient manner.
