Hiring: Equipment Maintenance Manager Company: Recology Location: San Francisco, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:19:20 About the job Required Skills: •Oversees all maintenance operations, ensures maintenance personnel adhere to established policies for inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment in addition to ensuring all company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (as applicable) are followed. •Authorizes and makes arrangements for procurement of parts, supplies, tools and machinery. •Contracts for services not performed in-house. •Consults with Vice-President of Fleet and operations management and makes recommendations on vehicle and equipment replacement needs. •Participates in budget making process pertaining to maintenance operations. •Administers periodic inspection and audit of company vehicles, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, effective, and compliant maintenance operations. •Identifies potential safety hazards and takes appropriate action to ensure personnel safety. •Investigates and evaluates cause, extent, and financial impacts of damage to equipment due to failures and vehicles involved in accidents. Qualifications: •High school diploma or GED required. •Valid Class "A” Commercial Driver's License with no air brake or automatic transmission restrictions required within 6 months of hire •Bachelor's degree preferred. •Eight years related industry experience, including four years in a supervisory role. •Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations that govern maintenance operations related to job site safety protocols and potential job hazards. •Must be able to perform routine calculations and be able to write reports and correspondence. •Principles of employee training, supervision, and evaluation. •Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.
