Hiring: Environmental Specialist Company: Peabody Energy Location: Lynnville, IN Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 11:03:17 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Risk Management About the job Required Skills: •The position is also responsible for permit administrative duties, including permit renewals, permit modifications, and required reporting. •The position may also provide field assistance to active mine sites. •Preparation and review of scientific data for inclusion in permit applications and environmental plans and reports with the goal of meeting regulatory performance standards and minimizing mine costs. •Knowledge of hydrology permitting and monitoring requirements and ability to complete periodic reporting requirements and modify plans to operational and regulatory needs (NPDES, SPCC, SMCRA). •Knowledge of air permitting, monitoring, and reporting requirements and ability to obtain monitoring certifications (SSOA, MSOP, FESOP). •Knowledge of waste and chemical storage, management, and spill requirements and familiarity with reporting obligations (TRI, SPCC). Assisting operations with waste and spill management and contractor coordination. •Knowledge of wetland and stream mitigation permitting and ability to review and compile monitoring data for submission to regulatory agencies. •NPDES applications, modifications, and renewals. Qualifications: •Minimum B.S.
