Hiring: Environmental Health Scientist Company: CAMRIS Location: Atlanta, GA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 13:47:44 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Electronic Health Records, Quality Assurance About the job Required Skills: •Provide expert analysis of environmental data associated with uncontrolled hazardous waste sites and controlled hazardous waste facilities. •Evaluate environmental data for quality assurance/quality control, completeness, and relevance. •Provide scientific expertise to assess site-specific public health impacts of identified hazardous substances and develop appropriate responses for health consultations requested by Federal, state and local agencies, and the public. •Provide environmental health and technical advice and appropriate recommendations regarding potential human health impacts resulting from exposure or potential exposure to hazardous substances. •Assist with the development of public and petition health assessments. •Based on analysis, appraise the impact of chemicals at sites on exposure pathways and evaluate proposed contamination cleanup procedures and alternatives. •Attend technical assistance site visits and public meetings. •Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: •Must demonstrate strong writing skills (i.e., at least 2 published first-author or co-authored manuscripts (first-author manuscripts highly preferred) in peer reviewed journals)). •Previous experience using data from surveillance systems (NHANES, BRFSS, NHIS), vital statistics, or large healthcare datasets (electronic health records, claims or administrative data) is highly preferred. •The physical requirements, workplace hazards and conditions, and PPE and chemical requirements described here are representative of those that a candidate must meet to perform the essential functions of this job.
