Hiring: Engineering Technical Writer Company: Acro Service Corp Location: Elkridge, MD Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 12:30:57 Target Skills & Keywords : HTML, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Secret Clearance About the job Experience: •5 years’ engineering writing experience •2 years’ experience with structured authoring applications, such as: Arbortext, MadCap Flare, or FrameMaker Required Skills: •Writes, rewrites and/or edits engineering documents such as technical procedure manuals, test requirement documents (TRDs), user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical information and instructions to a wide range of audiences. •Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. •Conducts quality review of materials. •Publish materials in various formats, including page-based, electronic (basic and interactive), structured (HTML, XML, and SGML). •Partner cross-functionally with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors, to develop and deliver sensor/system technical manuals to varying levels of detail and delivery formats. •Perform Desktop Publishing tasks for program/project reports, whitepapers, articles, and other documents. •Research and compile information from program documents, engineering sources, et al. to develop manual outlines and adhere to military/civilian specifications and standards of engineering technical writing. •Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: •Successful candidates will have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, be proactive, possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and be self-motivated. •Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline or related field •Or Military operations and maintenance experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks and information technology -based sensors/systems •Engineering background or equivalent military background •Expert knowledge with MS Office Products •Proven ability to manage several tasks simultaneously •Possess and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance •Self-starter and engaged team member •Minimum of 5 years’ engineering writing experience •Minimum of 2 years’ experience with structured authoring applications, such as: Arbortext, MadCap Flare, or FrameMaker Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
