Required Skills: •This role combines deep technical leadership with people management. You will help scale a high-performing systems engineering team while driving architecture, reliability, and operational excellence across embedded storage systems and distributed backup infrastructure. •Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership. •Build amazing, delightful products that win the market. •Interface directly with Product Managers and Hardware Team to chart roadmaps. •Plan and drive project execution. •Drive product quality, reliability, and user experience. •Work cross-functionally with other product teams to enhance our products and extend the power of the Verkada platform. Qualifications: •BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field. •Strong expertise in systems programming using C/C++, with additional experience in Go or other higher-level languages preferred. •Comprehensive expertise in low-level systems concepts including file systems, flash storage technologies, memory management, Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and embedded systems. •Operational familiarity with technologies such as Yocto, eBPF, MMC protocols, ext4, UBIFS, or related storage subsystems. •Strong architectural and operational experience building reliable, scalable distributed systems. •Demonstrated success driving technical strategy while managing execution across cross-functional teams. •Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction and align stakeholders across the organization. •Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week.
