Hiring: Engineer - Test/Validation Company: Kidde Global Solutions Location: Bradenton, FL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 14:23:31 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Jira, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Project Management, R About the job Experience: •5+ years of Fire Alarm System installation experience •5+ years of experience working in an engineering test lab and testing various electrical devices and components •5 years of testing /validation experience •2+ years of Fire Alarm System installation experience •2+ years of experience working in an engineering test lab and testing various electrical devices and components Required Skills: •Product testing and validation development •Review and thoroughly understand product schematics and client requirements for the fire detection products including smoke, CO, and heat sensors for commercial and residential markets. Also, fire notification products that include strobes, sounders and speakers. •Testing Edwards Fire Systems with a focus on devices ensuring all product operations and functionality. •Create and execute testing and validation procedures for each product assigned •Guarantee that the product tests meet agency requirements. (Agencies include UL, ULC, FM, CSFM, FCC, CE, EN-54, and CCCF) •Run official agency testing for UL (CTDP) and FM (LabQual) •Ensure that each electrical component, system and even testing equipment are properly functioning in excellent condition •Test products using various tools like computer software, surface mount technology (SMT), electrical equipment (such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters) and specific testing techniques Qualifications: •High School Diploma •OR Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology, Lab technician, Electrical Engineering, or related field in with 5 years of testing /validation experience •B.A./ B.S. in Electronics Technology, Lab technician, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2 years of related experience preferred •Knowledge of the fire and safety industry •Understanding of how to use sound measurements, light measurements, smoke tunnels, fire test rooms, smoke boxes, heat tunnels, CO chambers, etc •General understanding of engineering equipment like soldering irons, hand-held power tools •Excellent self-task management/prioritization and documentation skills in a R&D or testing lab environment •Understands how to read and interpret schematics •Basic knowledge of low voltage electronics •Expert on Microsoft Office (especially Excel and macros in Excel) Compensation: •Competitive benefits and rewards package •Individuals may be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
