Hiring: Engineer I (Mechanical Engineering) Company: Vertiv Location: Westerville, OH Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:10:15 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Agile, AutoCAD, CAD, Systems Design About the job Required Skills: •Creates/modifies mechanical Parts/Assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge. •Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOM’s based on options selected by the customer. •Works with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service, and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all of their needs. •Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and providing guidance when issues arise. •Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product. •Understands the products, suggest ideas and improvements. •Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues. •Coordinate testing in the lab. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. •Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products, and safety. •Basic mechanical CAD tools experience- Solid Edge, Creo (preferred), Solid Works. •Data-entry systems familiarity - Oracle, Agile, etc. •Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically. •Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills. •Demonstrated capacity to multitask and operate in cross functional global development teams. •Must be able to work in the lab or production facility to diagnose and solve problems. •Regular local travel between Office/Lab/production facilities and minimal travel ( •The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
