Required Skills: •Collaboration with Management •Consult with managers on various Human Resources (HR) and employee relations matters. Make disciplinary action recommendations regarding personnel issues, up to and including termination, in accordance with AVMC policy and procedures and state/federal law. •Participate in reviewing performance evaluations for appropriateness/completeness. Assist Directors with difficult performance evaluations. Make recommendations regarding action plans for employees not meeting standards. •Provide day-to-day guidance related to the application and interpretation of HR policies/procedures. •Guide employees or terminated employees regarding appropriate formal and informal complaint resolution process. Explain applicable policies and procedures related to the employee complaint and grievance resolution process. •Facilitate, investigate, and document findings regarding complaints related to the working environment, employee performance, Medical Center policy violations, and issues between employees/managers. •Participate in reviewing/developing/writing/communicating HR policies/procedures. •Respond to unemployment claims and participate in unemployment hearings. Qualifications: •· Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements. •· Knowledgeable of Affirmative Action guidelines and how to ensure compliance. •· Solid knowledge of investigation procedures. •· Minimum of an associate’s degree, or equivalent combination of work experience in Human Resources and formal education. •· Certification in Human Resources, or related field, preferred. •· Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced team environment, managing a variety of projects and responsibilities simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
