Hiring: Electronics Technician Company: Brookhaven National Laboratory Location: Upton, NY Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 10:27:28 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly, R About the job Experience: •4 years’ relevant work experience or •8 years’ relevant experience or •9 years’ relevant work experience or;- 10 years’ relevant work experience. •6 years’ relevant work experience or •10 years’ relevant experience or Required Skills: •NSLS-II is seeking an Electronic Technician under general direction; the Electronics Technician will work in the Electrical Engineering Technical Support group providing support to power supply and electronic systems. •Troubleshoot and repair complex power supply and other electronic systems using test equipment. •Actively facilitate and support development and construction of prototype power supplies and other electronic equipment. •Repair and replace components and circuit boards in electronic systems. •Support operations and troubleshoot power supply and control systems. •Proficient with schematics and mechanical assembly drawings. •Maintain and implement safety practices and procedures applicable to daily activities. •Overtime work, including emergency call-in, required. Qualifications: •A BS degree in a technical field and 4 years’ relevant work experience or •A technical institute, Adult BOCES certification, AA degree in a technical field, CCI program completion at BNL plus 8 years’ relevant experience or •A technical high school certification program (eg. BOCES) and 9 years’ relevant work experience or;- 10 years’ relevant work experience. •Demonstrated capacity to work from schematics, diagrams, and written procedures. •Strong computer skills with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. •Basic machine shop skills ex.
