Required Skills: •Airfield Lighting: Inspects, installs, and repairs high-voltage airport runway lighting systems, isolates and resolves equipment and system failures, uses standard and specialized electrical and electronic testing and diagnosis devices, and completes timely and accurate preventive maintenance activities. •Operational Support: Operates computers to create and access records, timecards, and work orders, responds to emergency situations, coordinates work with stakeholders, assists with training or instructing others, may lead the work of others as a project leader, and performs related duties as assigned. •Operational Driving*: Drive and operate Authority vehicle to various work sites on the SAN campus. Transport repair. •Specialized Trade Knowledge - Airfield 5kv voltage an 12Kv voltage experience. •Change Management - Identifies and implements available tools, techniques, and behaviors necessary to support change efforts that require the adoption and realization of change to achieve project outcomes and initiatives; adapts to evolving situations and effectively addresses resistances and concerns. •Project Management - Strong organizational skills and ability to complete assignments within expectations. Ability to deliver targeted results to specification, at cost and on schedule. Must be flexible to work the second or third shift including weekends and holidays. •Relationship & Interpersonal Skills - Demonstrates collaborative interpersonal proficiency to engage teams and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organization. Qualifications: •Graduation from high school or GED. •Four years of journey-level experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and devices. •Or an equivalent combination of training and experience. •Note: The candidate selected for this vacancy may work a non-traditional work schedule which requires night shift and weekend work; including being called back to work during emergency situations, and must be flexible to work the second or third shift including weekends and holidays •A valid California Class "C" driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy. •Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio and telecommunications equipment. •Valid journeyman license or higher Compensation: •Salary: The starting hiring salary for the Electrician II is $38.19 an hour.
