Hiring: Electrical Support Company: EEI Location: Sterling, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:59:13 Employment Type: Full-time / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office, Program Management About the job Required Skills: •Actively facilitate and support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical building systems — including power distribution, lighting, wiring, and controls — to help verify each system performs as designed. •Verify electrical installations against design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, and document findings thoroughly. •Participate in system testing across a range of conditions — full load, no load, and failure scenarios, tracking issues and corrective actions through resolution. •Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors in the field to resolve commissioning issues and support project delivery. •Conduct site inspections and ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with safety standards, site-specific protocols, and EEI requirements. •This role has no supervisory responsibilities. The position is expected to learn from experienced team members, support assigned project activities, and contribute positively to team execution. •Works closely with EEI project teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, equipment manufacturers, project stakeholders, and senior technical team members across disciplines. •Contractors, vendors, project stakeholders, and EEI project teams. Qualifications: •Basic understanding of electrical equipment, facility systems, construction activities, or technical field work, with a willingness to continue learning. •Demonstrated capacity to learn technical concepts and apply them in both office and field environments. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and system information with guidance. •Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn commissioning documentation tools or project software. •Currently authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. •Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Building Systems, or a related field. •Exposure to power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, controls, building automation systems, commissioning, data centers, or mission-critical facilities. •Hands-on technical experience through internships, technician roles, trade programs, military service, facility operations, maintenance, or field-based project work. •Interest in developing a long-term career in commissioning, building performance, data centers, or mission-critical operations.
