Hiring: Electrical Safety Engineer Company: X4 Engineering Location: San Diego, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 10:19:52 About the job Experience: •5 years' experience in electrical product safety testing, compliance engineering, or laboratory environments Required Skills: •Support product safety evaluations and testing activities for electrical, electronic, and medical electrical equipment in accordance with applicable national and international standards •Perform routine safety testing including leakage current, dielectric strength, temperature, abnormal operation, mechanical hazards, grounding continuity, flammability, and EMC pre-compliance evaluations •Assist with product and component assessments against standards such as IEC/UL/EN 60601-1, 60601-1-2, 61010-1, 62368-1, and 60335-1, plus related collateral and particular standards •Review technical documentation including schematics, risk management files, bills of materials, insulation diagrams, user manuals, and labeling for compliance with regulatory and certification requirements Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred) •2–5 years' experience in electrical product safety testing, compliance engineering, or laboratory environments •Solid functional working knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g. 60601-1, 61010-1, 62368-1, 60335-1) — medical device standards experience a plus •Applied hands-on capability in lab instrumentation: oscilloscopes, hipot testers, leakage current analyzers, multimeters, power analyzers, and environmental chambers •We pay up to $1000 for successful referrals so reach out if any of your network is on the lookout at the moment.
