This position reports to the Manager of Education. •Participate in the planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of educational, community, and outreach programming with a focus on Maymont’s goals to expand diversity and promote equity and inclusion •Assist in the preparation and coordination of resources, for all education and outreach programs and incorporates state and national standards of learning curriculum •Facilitates in-person and virtual programming aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning within the Maymont Mansion and outdoors in the historical gardens and grounds. •Provide proper animal care to environmental education animals under the direction of the Senior Manager of Zoology •Assist with collecting evaluations, program attendance and visitation numbers for monthly and annual reports •Represent the education department at various institutional meetings •Work effectively with other departments Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing •Knowledge of or interest in history and/or environmental science and how it relates to today •Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office •Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction to children and Maymont guests •Demonstrated capacity to understand and work within a budget •Demonstrated capacity to pass a background check •Valid driver’s license required with reliable transportation to and from Maymont •Associate’s degree in history, museum studies, education, biology, environmental science, science education, or related field preferred Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
