Company: State of Colorado Location: Denver, CO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 04:12:31 Employment Type: Part-time / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Project Management About the job Experience: •A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to nine (9) years. •Relevant experience would include but is not limited to: environmental and/or reclamation experience, experience in oil and gas operations, experience interpreting environmental regulations, etc.) •Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Required Skills: •De velops detailed work plans, procures necessary services and commodities, implements or manages the implementation of the work plan, including tracking costs, approving invoices, and ensuring that projects proceed in compliance with state procurement rules. •Proposes and oversees environmental studies or projects approved by the Environmental Manager that may, for example: establish, track, and document changes to baseline conditions of groundwater, surface water, soil, methane gas seep, and vegetation on Colorado's west slope. •E valuates spill reports and remedial action plans provided by operators for the remediation of impacted groundwater, surface water, and soil. •C onducts the technical review of, determines conditions of approval on a site-specific basis for, and approves applications for permits for E&P waste management facilities and activities. •A ssists in preparation for hearings by reviewing or developing presentations, and testifying as an expert in support of staff. •R esponsible for supporting staff in review of initial and supplemental spill and site investigation and remediation reports to determine appropriate conditions of approval, necessary emergency response action, or evaluation of data to make site closure decisions. Qualifications: •Nine (9) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position. •Current or former State experience relevant to this position. •Knowledge and/or experience with Colorado oil and gas industry, including current rules and regulations. •Knowledge and/or experience with ECMC rules, regulations, and regulatory processes. •Project management experience. •Professional experience scoping, tracking, and overseeing a budget. •(Please note, this arrangement can be subject to change) •(Relevant degrees would include but are not limited to: Geology, Hydrogeology, Soil Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
