Location: Wilmington, NC Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 14:32:17 Target Skills & Keywords : Cargo About the job Experience: •Valid Class A CDL with tank vehicle and hazardous materials endorsements, normally represented by an X endorsement, and no restriction preventing operation of the assigned equipment. •At least two years of verifiable professional commercial-driving experience and one year of petroleum cargo-tank, distribution-trailer, tank-wagon, or comparable fuel-delivery experience. •Current DOT medical qualification and ability to meet applicable FMCSA driver-qualification and road-test requirements. •Negative result on the required pre-employment drug test; not prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions under the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse; and continued participation in required random and other DOT drug and alcohol testing. •Demonstrated capacity to maintain hazardous-materials endorsement eligibility and complete required initial and recurrent DOT hazardous-materials and cargo-tank training, including entry-level or endorsement training through an FMCSA-registered provider when applicable. Required Skills: •Safely operate the assigned truck and specialized distribution trailer to transport and deliver fuel and lubricant products to and from designated locations. •Perform required pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the truck, distribution trailer, wet kit, hoses, equipment, and supplies. Promptly report defects, leaks, damage, or unsafe conditions and do not operate equipment that is not safe or legal to use. •Maintain the truck, distribution trailer, wet kit, hoses, and related equipment in a clean, organized, secure, and serviceable condition. •Safely lift, carry, position, and handle long delivery hoses when dispensing product at customer locations. •Inspect and monitor tank inventory to ensure accurate deliveries and maintain inventory balance across multiple deliveries completed under a single bill of lading. •Maintain product integrity by following established line-flushing procedures. •Maintain accurate driver logs and comply with applicable FMCSA hours-of-service, ELD, state, and federal DOT requirements. •Comply with applicable PHMSA hazardous-materials transportation requirements, including required placarding, shipping papers, product handling, and transportation procedures. Qualifications: •Strong working knowledge of safe truck and specialized distribution-trailer operations, including the safe transportation and delivery of fuel and lubricant products. •Solid functional working knowledge of applicable FMCSA requirements, including hours of service, ELD use, vehicle inspections, driver logs, and safe commercial-vehicle operation. •Solid functional working knowledge of applicable PHMSA hazardous-materials requirements, including placarding, shipping papers, cargo-tank operations, product handling, routing, parking, security, and attendance requirements, as applicable. •General knowledge of applicable OSHA workplace-safety standards, state requirements, company procedures, and customer- or site-specific safety requirements. •Solid functional working knowledge of distribution-trailer equipment, including wet kits, pumps, hoses, reels, nozzles, fittings, valves, emergency controls, and related equipment. •Demonstrated capacity to conduct required vehicle and equipment inspections, recognize defects or unsafe conditions, perform basic troubleshooting within assigned training and authority, and promptly report equipment concerns. •Understanding of fuel and lubricant delivery processes, including tank inventory, bills of lading, multi-stop inventory balancing, product integrity, and proper line-flushing procedures. •Basic reading and math skills necessary to verify delivery information, track product quantities, reconcile remaining inventory, and complete required documentation. •Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, inventory records, bills of lading, delivery confirmations, and other assigned records. •Demonstrated capacity to effectively use company-approved safety and telematics systems, including assigned ELD and video-monitoring technologies, transportation-management systems, email, mobile devices, and other assigned systems.
