Company: Smithsonian Institution Location: District of Columbia, United States Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 12:40:35 Employment Type: Part-time About the job Required Skills: •Responsible for providing strategic, managerial and policy leadership for mission critical enterprise software platforms that enable research, facilities, collections management, capital programs, financial administration and public facing digital services. •In This Position, You Will •Direct a portfolio of mission-critical enterprise software platforms; oversee licensing strategies, vendor relationships, entitlement compliance and cost optimization; conduct enterprise risk assessments and resolve high-impact cross-organizational issues. •Direct, monitor and evaluate staff and contractor; develop technical requirements and contractor documents; provide guidance on work and administrative matters; recommend personnel actions; resolve conflicts; develop performance standards; addresses employee issues and recognize performance. •Serve as principal advisor to senior leadership; represent the organization in governance bodies and executive working groups; advise on business, financial, compliance and risk implications of software investments; engage vendors, oversight bodies and external partners to negotiate solutions to complex, high-risk issues.
