Hiring: Director of External Reporting & Technical Accounting Company: MrBeast Location: New York, NY Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:48:48 Target Skills & Keywords : Segment About the job Experience: •15+ years of progressive experience with deep ownership of external reporting and technical accounting; a mix of Big 4 public accounting and issuer reporting experience is highly desirable Required Skills: •Own the preparation of external financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures, building toward a recurring filing cadence •Own technical accounting positions across the group, including segment reporting, EPS, stock-based compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and business combinations (ASC 805) •Research, evaluate, and document complex, non-standard transactions in clear, auditable technical memos •Build and maintain the external reporting calendar, disclosure controls and procedures, and the supporting tie-out process •Monitor, assess, and lead the adoption of new accounting standards, and own the company's accounting policy library •Direct external co-source workstreams for drafting and technical memos, transitioning capabilities in-house over time •Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external auditors and support audit committee reporting •Manage, mentor, and develop the technical accounting and external reporting team Qualifications: •Expert-level US GAAP knowledge and command of SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and S-K •A track record owning complex technical positions in multi-business-unit organizations •A hands-on, player-coach leadership style, capable of both executing detailed work and developing a team •Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical memo drafting •A builder mentality and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment •The target total compensation ranges from $246,000 – $282,000 including a fixed annual salary of $205,000 – $235,000, an employee equity plan grant, bonus, plus comprehensive benefits. •Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.
