Required Skills: •System Planning - Develop short and long-term plans for water and sewer infrastructure, including capacity analysis, asset management, and capital improvement projects. •Infrastructure Design - Prepare engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, treatment components, and related facilities. •Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations •(EPA, state DEQ, municipal codes, Mississippi procurement law). •Project Management - Oversee construction projects/grant awards, coordinate bid process and contractors, review submittals, and ensure adherence to engineering standards. •Operations Support - Provide technical guidance to field crews on maintenance, repairs, and emergency response. •Hydraulic Modeling - Perform modeling for water pressure, flow, sewer capacity, infiltration/inflow, and system optimization. •Asset Management - Maintain records, evaluate system condition, and recommend rehabilitation or replacement strategies. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. •3–7 years of experience in water distribution and wastewater collection systems. •Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWater, SewerGEMS). •Operational familiarity with EPA and state regulatory requirements. •Demonstrated capacity to read and prepare engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports. •Strong project management and communication skills. •Valid driver’s license; ability to conduct field inspections. •Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12–18 months. •Knowledge of SCADA systems and pump station operations. •Demonstrated capacity to perform fieldwork, including inspections of lift stations, manholes, water mains, and construction sites.
