Hiring: Director, Internal Program Management - PEM Company: Nel Hydrogen Location: Wallingford, CT Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 12:01:04 Employment Type: Contract / On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office, Project Management, Stakeholder Management About the job Experience: •10+ years of experience in engineering project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role •At least 5 years in a leadership role Required Skills: •Lead, manage, and mentor engineering project managers and technical leads responsible for internal development initiatives; these could include both internally and externally funded activities and programs that conclude with the transition of products to scale manufacturing •Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple concurrent engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget •Partner cross-functionally with executive leadership and key stakeholders to define project priorities, requirements, and success criteria •Utilize project management best practices, tools, and standards to improve project visibility, predictability, and performance. Project execution will follow with Nel Design & Development processes as applicable •Allocate and manage internal engineering resources efficiently to maximize productivity and project outcomes •Identify and mitigate risks and roadblocks impacting project delivery; proactively resolve issues to maintain momentum •Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to senior management and other stakeholders •Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within engineering teams Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar technical field (Master’s or MBA preferred) •Proven track record to drive complex, multi-discipline development projects to completion on time and on budget •Demonstrated capacity to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals •Strong leadership skills with experience building and leading high-performing technical teams •Demonstrated capacity to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments •Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. •Proven ability to drive change, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. •Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project; familiarity with ERP is a plus •Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus •Able to travel (up to 10%) as needed Compensation: •Competitive benefits and rewards package Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
