Hiring: Director, Health & Fitness Company: Planet Fitness Location: Boston, MA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 12:16:32 Employment Type: Remote About the job Experience: •10+ years of progressive leadership experience in fitness, wellness, health, coaching, exercise science, or related disciplines Required Skills: •Develops and leads Planet Fitness' enterprise health, fitness, and wellness strategy aligned with business goals, member needs, and industry trends. •Serves as the company's primary subject matter expert on fitness, exercise science, recovery, healthy aging, nutrition, weight management, and behavior change. •Identifies emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities that strengthen Planet Fitness' position as an industry leader. •Evaluates and recommends new fitness, wellness, and member engagement initiatives that support long-term growth. •Establishes a multi-year roadmap for fitness programming, education, content, and wellness experiences. •Member Experience & Program Development •Leads the development and evolution of fitness programming, education, and wellness initiatives designed to increase member engagement and exercise adherence. •Partners with Product, Marketing, and Member Experience teams to incorporate fitness expertise into digital experiences and member-facing solutions. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, Health Promotion, or related field required •Deep expertise in exercise science, strength training, recovery, nutrition, healthy aging, weight management, and wellness best practices •Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends, including GLP-1 medications, digital fitness, wearable technology, and consumer health and wellness •Proven ability to evaluate new concepts, develop business cases, and influence strategic decision-making •Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making •Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives •Exceptional presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership •Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally •Creative, progressive, thought leadership with the ability to influence and drive organizational change •Excellent leadership and people development skills with the ability to motivate, guide, mentor, and inspire others Compensation: •$150,000 - $175,000 / year •Competitive benefits and rewards package Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
