Hiring: Director, Facilities Operations Company: California State University Channel Islands Location: Oxnard, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 11:27:13 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Regulatory Compliance About the job Required Skills: •Lead and manage the operational functions of Facilities Services & Public Works, including skilled trades, building and mechanical systems, utilities, custodial services, landscape and grounds, maintenance stores, fleet, and contracted services, as assigned. •Provide leadership for the maintenance, repair, and operation of campus buildings, grounds, infrastructure, equipment, roads, walkways, and utility systems. •Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, reliable, functional, compliant, and serviceable condition in support of the University’s mission and continuity of operations. •Direct day-to-day operations through assigned managers, supervisors, staff, and contractors. Establish priorities and allocate personnel, funding, equipment, materials, and contracted resources based on safety, regulatory requirements, campus needs, facility conditions, service impacts, and available resources. •Develop and administer a comprehensive routine, preventive, corrective, planned, and emergency maintenance program. Establish service standards, work processes, procedures, quality controls, and performance measures to support timely and effective completion of facilities work. •Ensure the reliable operation of campus utility and infrastructure systems, including electrical distribution, emergency power, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, building controls, domestic and reclaimed water, sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, boilers, refrigeration, and related systems. •Advise the Associate Vice President regarding operational priorities, resource requirements, service levels, infrastructure conditions, regulatory compliance, organizational performance, and short- and long-range renewal needs. •Develop and maintain procedures for planned outages, emergency response, notification, restoration, and after-hours coverage. Participate in campus emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and continuity-of-operations activities. Qualifications: •Coordinate required inspections, testing, certifications, permits, and maintenance records for regulated facilities systems and equipment.
