Required Skills: •The Director, External Communications, MetLife Investment Management (MIM) •Is responsible for advancing the external reputation of MetLife's institutional asset management business through strategic communications, media relations, executive visibility, and thought leadership initiatives. •Guided by our purpose, Always with you, building a more confident future •A top candidate will be commutable to MetLife's 200 Park Ave, New York office in a hybrid presence. •Open to candidates commutable to MetLife's Warren, NJ office. •Actively facilitate and support execution of external communications and media relations strategies that strengthen MetLife Investment Management's reputation among target audiences. •Develop compelling narratives, thought leadership content, executive messaging, media materials, and digital communications that showcase MIM's investment expertise and strategic priorities. •Partner with senior leaders, investment teams, research professionals, distribution teams, and marketing partners to identify and amplify timely storytelling opportunities aligned with business objectives. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, preferably within asset management, investments, or financial services. •Strong relationships with financial, business, and trade media, with experience securing coverage and managing media engagement opportunities. •Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including experience creating press releases, executive messaging, bylined content, talking points, Q&As, social media posts, and other external communications materials. •Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate complex investment, economic, and business topics to external audiences. •Operational familiarity with media monitoring, measurement, and analytics tools used to evaluate communications effectiveness and inform strategy. •Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role r equiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
