Hiring: Director Commercial Lines Underwriting Company: SECURA Insurance Location: Neenah, WI Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:51:49 Target Skills & Keywords : Portfolio Management About the job Required Skills: •The Director partners closely with the Commercial Lines Manager and other business leaders to drive underwriting consistency, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement while ensuring strong agency relationships and exceptional customer service. •Develop and execute underwriting strategies that support profitable growth, retention, portfolio management, and agency relationship objectives •Monitor underwriting performance, loss trends, agency results, and market conditions to achieve financial and business goals •Provide leadership and direction on complex underwriting situations, risk selection decisions, and portfolio management strategies •Partner with Sales leadership and agency partners to strengthen relationships, improve market relevance, and capitalize on growth opportunities •Lead, coach, and develop underwriting leaders and associates while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement •Establish performance expectations and ensure effective execution of departmental strategies, initiatives, and business objectives •Identify and develop future leaders through succession planning, mentoring, and career development Qualifications: •Demonstrated Commercial Lines underwriting expertise with a strong understanding of risk selection, portfolio management, pricing, and profitability •Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing underwriting teams •Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills •Demonstrated capacity to develop and execute business plans that drive profitable growth, retention, and underwriting excellence •Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret underwriting performance, loss trends, portfolio results, and market conditions •Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills •Demonstrated capacity to influence outcomes and build strong partnerships with agency partners, internal business leaders, and cross-functional teams •Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage competing priorities, and successfully execute organizational initiatives •Previous management experience leading underwriting leaders, supervisors, or managers •Professional insurance designations such as CPCU, AU, CIC, ARM, or equivalent Compensation: •Competitive benefits and rewards package Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
